im gonna cryyy, i cant wait to play  😻😻

I'm still early in the game at the moment of writing this comment, but I think the writing for Lukas is a bit off. He feels so shy and formal, just looking at his dialogue I'd assume he was a woman. It's especially weird because, judging from his clothes, he seems like a very casual and outgoing person.
This goes for all/most of his dialogue, but I was especially taken out of the story by him telling Kit "That's so kind of you!" when Kit gives him a free croissant.
This is just not how men talk.

i'm a fan of this game and i come every day to see if theres a update... can someone say when its the 0.5 to public? (i dont speak english, sorry)

(+1)

Hi, I actually did a bit of the math. So currently, 0.5 came out less than three months ago for tier 2+ patrons. 6 days later, it released for tier 1 patrons and 0.4.8 was released on Itch to the public. That's how CHYSA does things, so when 0.5.5 gets released for tier 2+ patrons, about 6 days later 0.5 will be on Itch. CHYSA has a progress page on patreon in the "About" section, and judging by their own calculations, they're over 2/3 of the way through 0.5.5. Maybe about a month, at least, if I had to guess.

Wow, thanks 😼👌

Ok, so this time it came out exactly the same day as the new release for some reason.

Hey! To make up for the long delay between updates, I released Version 0.5 a week early! I've been working on the Steam demo and preparing for NextFest over the past month, which is why the update took longer than usual. I hope you enjoy the new content!

I'm looking forward to it, and don't get me wrong, I appreciate you doing that. I just wasn't expecting it at all, and honestly the wait between updates didn't seem THAT extremely different from others.

I noticed you mentioned that the straight route can be avoided, but I can't help but wonder why every time a female character is introduced, the narrative puts so much emphasis on her body and Lukas's reaction to it ( like with Althea in the library or Sally in the alleyway ), even when straight points are at zero. I thought that since I was interested in Sally's male form, "Sylas," she would consistently present herself as Sylas in every encounter, which would make sense if we rejected her and have zero int points with her. Instead, she ends up groping us without consent in the restroom as Sally, and honestly, I just want to tell her to back off.

It seems there's been more effort to ensure that gay and trans content can be fully avoided, like making their nudity optional and implementing gay points checks before scenes where a male character is half-naked. For instance, when you visit Chase, the scene changes significantly based on whether Lukas leans straight or gay—if he's more straight, Chase is fully dressed, but if he's gay, Chase is half-naked. However, that same consideration isn't given to those who want to completely avoid straight scenes. Sally's nudity in her succubus form is only lightly  ( not at all ) covered by wisps, and there's a noticeable delay between when her sprite shows up and when the wisps do. I wish we had the option to turn off her sprite or at least have her dressed, along with the ability to tell her to keep her hands and flirtations to herself or just simply have her present as Sylas for the remainder of the story especially if she is planning to molest us in a certain scenes. Not to mention Stella's nudity which wasn't censored at all, even when she was cloacked we had a glimpse of it, i just wish female characters stopped fondling us. I don't think if it was male characters having a feel of Lukas it would be well received by the straight audiance leading to riots in the comments.

When a male character makes a move on Lukas ( like when Professor Rojas offers private lessons ), it only registers once we confirm our interest through the choice that raises int points with that character, the professor doesn’t touch Lukas until we choose we want to pursue him, Lukas then reacts to the attention, blushing and all. In contrast, when a female character appears, Lukas is all over her ( getting hard ons ) from the start without the player input on wether we are interested. Honestly, the photography professor is quite uncomfortable, touching Lukas without consent. If we're not interested, instead of being able to tell her directly ( her and Sally when we meet her for the first time ), we have to come up with weak excuses, while we can clearly tell Professor Rojas ( and other male LIs ), “I’m not interested.”

I usually steer clear of games with a male MC and both male and female love interests because they often prioritize the latter, but after seeing that this visual novel was well-received and that you promised equal screen time for both genders and the option to avoid unwanted content, I decided to give it a shot. Initially, I was drawn in by the art and then fell in love with the story. Lukas is such a sweet character ( though I wish he could stand up to Jade, Stella, and Sally the way he does with Chase—it's frustrating to see him toughen up and man up around male characters but soften and mellow out around the female cast, let me turn the ladies down and give them a piece of my mind instead of being shoved around by them ). Each character has a unique voice and their own parallel storylines.

I just wish the straight content didn't overwhelm the experience. I believe implementing checks for straight and gay points before straight scenes would help filter out those uncomfortable moments where Lukas reacts to female characters in ways that feel forced, i want to ogle the male cast too, I think it would be good to have Lukas eyes wandering the male LIs bodies the same he is doing with the ladies. It would also be great if you could revisit the Althea library scene and any other instances that make Lukas attracted to female love interests and their “attributes” despite choosing the gay path, as well as allow for the option to avoid female nudity entirely. I think the scene in the alleyway was a good idea to set Lukas sexuality, and I think choosing to look at the guy, girl or both should set the stone for the rest of the story presenting the player with their desired content.

I hope you find this feedback constructive and that I’m not overstepping by suggesting these changes and pointing out some disparities. I genuinely hope that these considerations can be implemented, especially since feedback for adult games on itch.io can sometimes be overlooked since now the adult tag  doesn’t show up in the search bar but has to be typed in order to show VNs that fall into this category.

I forgot to mention that an error shows up when we are supposed to see the phone texts, i can't view them, which leads to answering them without knowing what it was about :

Okay, so I played some more and I have to say, I find it kinda jarring to have Sylas sprite appear only during sex scenes, but then as soon as the moment is over we are faced with Sally again,.I think it would make more sense to be approached romantically and sexually by Sylas ( because having Sally talk about her doing things to us then switching to Sylas only when genitals are concerned is quite uncomfortable ) if we are on the gay route. I feel, it just drives point that we will always see Sylas as Sally, making it impossible to dissociate her from Sylas even in the sexy times, tbh, when we are doing the do with Sylas, it feels like we are doing it with Sally. I do not like Sally making moves on us, there is a reason Lukas turned her down at the beginning and chose Sylas, so it would be great if she stopped calling us Lover, because Lukas the way I am playing him, certainly isn’t attracted to her.

Being on a gay route should negate all “love” choices with the female characters, I think there should be straight points check the same there is gay points check that dictate how characters interact with Lukas. There is like zero male nudity if gay points are low or at zero whereas I can’t avoid female nudity, and innuendo when straight points are at zero and gay points are high.

For code errors : I reached the party and when Jade asked us if we agreed to help Stella, Lukas answers “I did” even thought I refused to help her back in the restroom.

Hey, thanks a ton for the detailed review! I really appreciate you taking the time to write such an in-depth review, it’s exactly the kind of feedback I need to keep improving the game.

Some of the changes you mentioned have already been addressed in the Steam demo, which is live and playable right now. The current Demo on Steam gives you a clear choice between straight, gay, or bi content at the start of the game, making it more personalized to what players want, it also does a better job in hiding female nudity. Also, Sylas will definitely be replacing Sally in the scenes on the gay path. I’ll be gradually implementing this as I continue updating the game both here and on Steam.

The changes you see in the Steam demo will also be introduced progressively on itch.io to avoid any potential bugs. since it’s mostly early game content.

I know the game still needs polishing, and I’m working hard to get everything where it should be. The version on itch.io is still in an early stage, but I’m actively rolling out updates as we move toward the official early access release on Steam for a cleaner version.

About the bug with the phone, I believe it might be happening when you’re not connected to any networks, right now, the phone needs the internet to function for some reason. I’ll be looking into fixing that specific issue. The smaller bugs with story choices will also be fixed progressively in the upcoming updates.

Thanks again for your thoughtful feedback. I’m really glad you’re still enjoying the game despite the issues. I’ll definitely be looking into those bugs you mentioned and fix them as soon as possible!

Well, no matter what, the main character is canonically bisexual. So he will still have those base physical reactions, just like a majority of bi guys would. The reason the straight, bi, and gay exclusive routes exist isn't to override any canon aspects of the characters, but just to give the player a way to avoid seeing content they'd rather not. The reason all of these characters are romance-able is because Lukas, the MC, has at least a base physical attraction to all of them, and they all feel the same way towards him. Put yourself in his shoes, and a "gay route" is really just a bi guy choosing to date men. You can imagine he chose to pursue men primarily because he may not have had much experience with that in the past, because of small-town heritage or whatever. So I think it's okay for him to still find the women attractive, even on a gay-only route ( but I do agree I'd like to see Sylas' sprite override Sally's on a gay-only route after the first interaction, instead of just censoring the female nudity ). I'm mainly hoping to see romance routes tbh. I don't really wanna just continue a harem or anything like that, because a lot of the stories that have been set up would lend themselves so much towards real romance and mystery, with finishing all the routes unlocking all the secrets of the game or something. Maybe, sometime down the line, after all the romance-able characters have been introduced, the player will have to make a choice on which romance they'd like to pursue out of all the ones they've "interacted with" so far? Because I can't imagine, if you pursue Professor Rojas, that he just wants a casual fling. He seems like the kind of guy who wants to love and be loved genuinely, not strung along and toyed with, same with Kit and Irvin.

I’ve definitely thought about introducing romance routes. Ideally, I’d love to include multiple options toward the end of the game, like individual romance routes and even a harem route. As you mentioned, some characters lean more toward romance than casual relationships, so it feels natural to incorporate that. That said, it's a lot of work, so it might take some time before it’s fully implemented! You're right about the MC being bisexual and attracted to both genders, regardless of the chosen route. I understand that may not appeal to everyone, so the best way to handle that would be to offer separate routes, one strictly straight, one gay, and one bi, so players can choose what suits them without feeling uncomfortable with certain content. However, the MC is still canonically bisexual.

All of that sounds  great actually, and don't worry ab how long it takes. It's game development, narrative crafting, and worldbuilding all rolled into one, don't worry ab the fact that you need time to do those things. I'm looking forward to seeing how everything progresses. I wasn't expecting to actually be enthralled by the story, but there I am (oh and I have to add that so far, I absolutely adore all of the characters and the art style is so cute)

I've just started it (JUST finished the convo with August at school the first day), but I gotta say I already hope August becomes a route someday. Officer Johnson too, actually lol.

August already has a romance route! He has a good amount of content in the current game. Officer Johnson will get more content in the later updates as well! He recently won the summer art poll on my Patreon and will be getting his own NSFW art set very soon :)

Ooohhhh... Hope I get some money soon so I can see that art! Obvs I'm still exploring the game, still not far into it but enjoying it so far.

....Are you open to people pointing things out to you? I don't wanna overstep boundaries, there's just a handful of stuff that makes me go "Huh?"

Of course! I'd appreciate getting your feedback.  You can DM me here: https://x.com/chysa_art

Since X/Twitter is being a butt (No DMs unless we're mutual friends, same on TikTok) I'll just offer here.

There's some inconsistencies in the game, some grammar issues, and a handful of misspellings. Possibly some code issues as well since choosing one option will sometimes bring up dialogue as if the other option was chosen. If you need someone to look it over and correct anything, I'm willing to help. I can even do light coding and can probably fix those few choices for you. Plus I'm free.

Thanks for letting me know! I'd love to get some help with that for the game's Steam release later on. Let's stay in touch on Twitter. :)
